Women’s leadership has been instrumental in ensuring equitable participation, benefits and decision-making in the design and implementation of integrated landscape projects.
This presentation describes how WOCAN (Women Organizing for Change in Agriculture and Natural Resource Management) supports PROGREEN projects, enhancing the knowledge and capabilities of landscape project teams and partners to empower women through project activities.
Results of initiatives in Nepal, Mexico and India that measure and quantify women’s empowerment outcomes related to enhanced leadership skills and knowledge, and increased income and assets, are discussed.
